Wondering where oxygen skincare fits alongside vitamin C, retinol and sunscreen? LMO2 recommends an oxygen-first routine: Oxygen → Hydrate → Treat → Seal → Protect. Start with O2Revive MD, follow with your hydrating and peptide serums, then moisturizer. In the morning, finish with sunscreen.
This guide follows LMO2’s product-use recommendations. Other brands’ formulas vary, so follow their directions too rather than assuming every combination is interchangeable.
Your LMO2 routine, step by step
1. Cleanse
Use a gentle cleanser to remove sunscreen, makeup and excess oil. Pat skin dry before beginning your LMO2 routine.
2. Oxygen: O2Revive MD
Morning and evening, mist O2Revive MD evenly over clean skin. Allow it to dry before applying your serums. LMO2 recommends this as the first product after cleansing, before other skincare layers.
3. Hydrate: O2 & Hyaluronic Serum
After the spray has dried, apply O2 & Hyaluronic Serum to the face and neck. The serum combines hyaluronic acid, glycerin, aloe vera, vitamin B5, green tea and Ox66® Oxygen Complex. Gently smooth or pat it in and allow it to absorb.
4. Treat: O2 & Peptide Serum
Next, apply O2 & Peptide Serum evenly over the face and neck. This unique formulation contains Matrixyl 3000, Argireline, hyaluronic acid, retinyl palmitate and Ox66® among its ingredients. This is the targeted peptide step in the routine, designed for morning and evening use. Allow it to absorb before moisturizer.
5. Seal: O2 Face Cream
Apply O2 Face Cream over the face and neck after the serums have absorbed. It provides the final moisturizing layer in your LMO2 routine.
6. Protect: sunscreen, morning only
Finish your morning skincare routine with broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Apply and reapply according to the sunscreen’s label. Do not mix sunscreen into your serum or cream.
Simple morning and evening routines
Morning: Cleanse → O2Revive MD, allow to dry → O2 & Hyaluronic Serum → O2 & Peptide Serum → O2 Face Cream → broad-spectrum SPF 30+.
Evening: Cleanse → O2Revive MD, allow to dry → O2 & Hyaluronic Serum → O2 & Peptide Serum → O2 Face Cream.
You do not need a fixed waiting period between every step. Let the spray dry and the serums absorb before continuing, following each product’s directions.
Where does vitamin C fit?
Check which form of vitamin C you use. Traditional L-ascorbic acid serums are often formulated at a low pH. Based on its Ox66® formulation guidance, LMO2 recommends using low-pH L-ascorbic acid products in a separate routine rather than immediately before or after its oxygen products.
For example, you could reserve one routine for your vitamin C product, following its directions, and use the complete LMO2 routine at another time. Finish any morning routine with sunscreen.
Vitamin C derivatives can be formulated differently. Ask the manufacturer about the formula’s pH and layering instructions; the words “vitamin C” alone do not establish compatibility with Ox66®. This separation is LMO2’s precautionary product-use recommendation, not a claim that all vitamin C combinations are harmful.
What about AHAs and BHAs?
Leave-on exfoliating acid products are commonly acidic. LMO2 recommends using them separately from its oxygen routine rather than layering them directly with Ox66® products. One option is to use an exfoliant on an alternate evening, following that product’s directions, and return to your complete LMO2 routine on another evening.
Avoid adding several unfamiliar active products at once. Introduce changes gradually so it is easier to notice what your skin tolerates.
Can I use retinol or retinal with LMO2?
The vitamin A ingredient in LMO2 O2 & Peptide Serum is retinyl palmitate, not retinol. LMO2 designs this serum for both morning and evening use.
If you use a separate retinol or retinal product, follow that product’s application instructions and introduce it gradually. Do not assume that a specific placement before or after the LMO2 serums is appropriate for every formula, or that the peptide serum will prevent irritation. For combination guidance, check with the product manufacturer or your dermatologist.
Use prescription retinoids and other prescription topical medications according to your healthcare provider’s instructions.
Can I use both LMO2 serums together?
Yes. LMO2’s recommended order is O2 & Hyaluronic Serum first, O2 & Peptide Serum second, and O2 Face Cream last. Apply them after O2Revive MD has dried, and add sunscreen as the final morning step.
Keep the routine simple
Oxygen first. Hydrate. Treat. Seal. Protect. Use that sequence for your LMO2 routine, keep strongly acidic leave-on products in a separate routine as LMO2 recommends, and follow the directions for any additional actives.
For cosmetic use only. Individual skin tolerance varies. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. If you use prescription topical medications or are under a dermatologist’s care, follow your healthcare provider’s recommendations.
